Goodbye Summer, Hello Routine!

Well, the kids are back in school, the extra-curriculars are starting up again, mornings are likely more chaotic, and more military uniforms are being spotted on the Island. It’s not officially fall yet, but it pretty much is, and PEI’s military units are back on the job here in PEI. Now, many military members did work over the summer, but much of this work took place in bases across the country. It’s nice to see our military members in PEI regimental units across the province again. To all those who were away: Welcome back!

Here at PEI MFRC, we had a pretty exciting summer. Summers are always accused of being too short, but we really did feel like this one was over in a blink. It was fairly non-stop around the office … when we were actually in the office, of course!

A few highlights of our 2015 Tip-to-Tip tour:

  • We kicked the tour off July 1 in Cardigan, celebrating our nation’s birthday by the Village Green.
  • We scooted over to Montague for their Montague Days festival.
  • Mid-July saw us hanging out at the O’Leary arena.
  • The end of the month had us meeting and greeting people up in Alberton.
  • Kensington hosted us mid-August during their festival.
  • We had a blast participating in Charlottetown‘s Gold Cup and Saucer parade.
  • A huge event for us happened late August: the Summerside Air Show.
  • We finished our Tip-to-Tip  tour back east, with a stop in Souris for the Eastern Kings Exhibition.

We are so thrilled to have visited so many parts of the Island. Thank you to all the communities who hosted us!

We had a fantastic summer, but we are looking forward to a pretty fantastic fall, too. To all of you starting a new routine this week, know we are thinking of you!
