Summer Camp Grant Guidelines

2026 Summer Camp Grant

Supported by True Patriot Love Foundation

With support from the True Patriot Love Foundation, PEI MFRC is pleased to offer summer camp funding to Military, Veteran, and RCMP children living in PEI. This grant gives eligible children the opportunity to explore new interests and make lasting memories at a summer camp of their choice.

Please read all guidelines carefully before applying, as changes have been made this year.

Eligibility

  • The child must be between the ages of 4 and 14.
  • The child must live in Prince Edward Island.
  • The Military, Veteran, or RCMP member must be the applicant child’s parent or legal guardian.
  • One application must be submitted per child. Families with more than one eligible child are welcome to apply for each child separately.

Funding

PEI MFRC will reimburse camp fees up to a maximum of $400 per child. Families may apply for multiple weeks of camp; however, the combined reimbursement shall not exceed $400 per child. Children may attend either a summer day camp or an overnight camp of their choice.

Original receipts are required for reimbursement. Applicants who have not yet paid for camp at the time of application will receive conditional approval, with payment issued upon submission of original receipts.

Priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Applicants who are actively engaged with PEI MFRC programs and services
  2. Applicants who have not previously received summer camp funding from PEI MFRC
  3. Applicants attending Camp Maple Leaf

If applications exceed available funding, approved amounts will be prorated.

How to Apply

Complete a separate application form for each child at: form.jotform.com/260885536226060

As part of the application, each child must submit a creative piece that answers one of the following:

  • Which type of camp they would like to attend, and why
  • What their favorite hobbies are (if they haven’t chosen a camp yet)

Creative submissions may be:

  • A video (maximum 2 minutes; phone-recorded is perfectly fine)
  • A written piece (maximum 200 words; handwritten or typed)
  • A piece of artwork (any medium)

Email creative submissions to camp@pei-mfrc.org with the child’s name and “Creative Submission” in the subject line. The application is not complete until the creative submission is received. Late submissions cannot be accepted.

Key Dates

May 15, 2026 — Deadline for all applications, creative submissions, and receipts (where available).

May 22, 2026 — Successful applicants notified by email. Those without receipts will receive conditional approval pending submission of original receipts.

June 2, 2026, 4:30–6:30 p.m. — Grant paperwork and agreement signing at the PEI MFRC Annual General Meeting. We encourage you to attend the AGM to sign the agreement in person. For those who are unable to attend, paperwork may be completed at the PEI MFRC office beginning June 8, 2026.

Post-Camp Requirements

By accepting this grant, the parent/guardian and child agree to:

  • Complete a short online survey about the camp experience
  • Share a brief testimonial or photos with True Patriot Love Foundation reflecting the impact of the funding

This helps PEI MFRC continue to secure donations and offer grants in future years.
